dhobie itch

dhobie itch /dō″bē/ [Hindi, dhobie, laundryman; AS, giccan] , a fungal infection, such as jock itch or athlete’s foot, that attacks moist parts of the body and causes an itching or burning sensation. Risk factors for infection include close-fitting or wet clothing or undergarments. Also called tinea cruris.
