cutaneous anaphylaxis

cutaneous anaphylaxis, a localized hypersensitivity reaction in the form of a wheal and flare. It occurs in sensitized individuals when, as a test of sensitivity to various allergens, an antigen is injected into the skin. See also antiserum anaphylaxis.
