cricoid cartilage

cricoid cartilage, a ring-shaped cartilage of the larynx, consisting of a narrow anterior arch and a posterior wide quadrilateral lamina, connected to the thyroid cartilage by the cricothyroid ligament at the level of the sixth cervical vertebra.
