Colles’ fracture

Colles’ fracture [Abraham Colles] , a break in or near the distal radius within 2.5 cm of the joint of the wrist, which causes displacement of the hand to a dorsal and lateral position. Colles’ fractures commonly occur when there is a fall with an outstretched hand. Also called silver-fork fracture.
