coconsciousness

coconsciousness /kōkon″shəsnəs/ , (in psychiatry) conscious states the patient is not aware of because they are not in the focus of attention but on the fringe of the content of consciousness. Thus something can be recalled and drawn into consciousness only when the conditions of consciousness are favorable.
