cauliflower ear

cauliflower ear [L, caulis, cabbage, fiore, flower; AS, eare] , a thickened, deformed pinna and external ear (with an appearance like the vegetable cauliflower) that is caused by repeated trauma, such as that suffered by boxers. Plastic surgery may be a means of restoring the normal appearance of the ear.
