canal of Schlemm

canal of Schlemm /shlem/ [Friedrich Schlemm, German anatomist, 1795–1858] , a tiny vein at the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye that connects with the pectinate villi, draining the aqueous humor and funneling it into the bloodstream. Also called Schlemm’s canal.
