biteplate

biteplate /bīt″plāt/ , a device used in dentistry as a diagnostic or therapeutic aid for prosthodontics or orthodontics. It is made of wire and plastic and worn in the palate. It may also be used in the correction of temporomandibular joint problems or as a splint in restoring the full mouth.
