bacteriuria

bacteriuria /baktir′ēyo͝or″ē·ə/ , the presence of bacteria in the urine. The presence of more than 100,000 pathogenic bacteria per milliliter of urine is usually considered significant and diagnostic of urinary tract infection. Bacteriuria may be asymptomatic. See also urinary tract infection.
