bacteremic shock

bacteremic shock, septic shock caused by the release of toxins by bacteria, usually gram-negative bacteria, in the blood. This causes dangerously low blood pressure, which deprives organs of an adequate blood supply. Bacteremic or septic shock is life-threatening. See septic shock.
