atrophoderma /at′rōfədur″mə/ [Gk, a + trophe + derma, skin] , the wasting away or decrease in thickness of the skin. The atrophy may affect the entire body surface or only localized areas. The condition is often associated with aging and may occur as a primary or secondary symptom of various diseases.
