atracurium

atracurium, an intermediate-duration nondepolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant used as an adjunct in anesthesia to create an ideal surgical field; it induces muscle paralysis, thereby reducing muscle tension in the surrounding surgical field. See also cisatracurium.
