adenomyosis /ad′ənōmī·ō″sis/ , 1. a benign neoplastic condition characterized by tumors composed of glandular tissue and smooth muscle cells. 2. a neoplastic condition characterized by the invasive growth of uterine mucosa in the uterus, pelvis, colon, or oviducts.
