acanthiomeatal line

acanthiomeatal line /əkan′thē·ō′mē·ā″təl/ , a hypothetical line extending from the external acoustic meatus to the acanthion. In dentistry, a full maxillary denture is constructed so that its occlusal plane is parallel with this line. The line is used for radiographic positioning of the skull. See acanthion.
