continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH)

continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH), a procedure to remove excess fluid and toxins that does not typically involve use of blood pumps but uses the patient’s own mean arterial pressure to generate a driving force across a hemofilter membrane.
