coccygeus

coccygeus /koksij″ē·əs/ [Gk, kokkyx, cuckoo’s beak] , one of two muscles in the pelvic diaphragm. Stretching across the pelvic cavity like a hammock, it is a triangular sheet of muscle and tendinous fibers. It acts to draw the coccyx ventrally, helping to support the pelvic floor.
