chorionic plate

chorionic plate [Gk, chorion + platys, flat] , the part of the fetal placenta that gives rise to chorionic villi, which attach to the uterus during the early stage of formation of the placenta. It forms the fetal side of the placental disc, and its development is responsible for a normal placenta.
