chemabrasion /kem′əbrā″zhən/ [Gk, chemeia, alchemy; L, ab + radere, to scrape off] , a method of treating scars, chromatosis, or other skin disorders by applying chemicals that remove the surface layers of skin cells. See also chemical cauterization, chemosurgery.
