cerebrospinal otorrhea

cerebrospinal otorrhea, a discharge of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the ear. Basal skull fractures can transverse the paranasal air sinuses of the middle ear within the temporal bone, resulting in a dural tear. CSF can then leak through the dural tear and drain from the ear. Compare cerebrospinal rhinorrhea.
