cells of Paneth

cells of Paneth /pä″nət, pan″əth/ [Josef Paneth, Austrian physiologist, 1857–1890] , large granular epithelial cells found in intestinal glands. They secrete digestive enzymes and bactericidal lysozyme. Also called Davidoff’s cells.
