cardiopulmonary murmur

cardiopulmonary murmur [Gk, kardia, heart; L, pulmo, lung, murmur, humming] , a sound heard over the heart during breathing and synchronous with the heartbeat; caused by vibrations that result when the heart strikes the lung tissue with every beat. Also called cardiorespiratory murmur.
