cadmium nephropathy

cadmium nephropathy, chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis caused by prolonged low-level cadmium poisoning. Elevated levels of urinary beta2 microglobulin are associated with renal dysfunction in persons chronically exposed to low but cumulative cadmium in the environment or work setting.
