binocular parallax

binocular parallax /per″əlaks/ [L, bini + oculus + Gk, parallax, in turn] , the difference in the angles formed by the sight lines to two objects situated at different distances from the eyes. Binocular parallax is a major factor in depth perception. Also called stereoscopic parallax.
