basilic vein

basilic vein /bəsil″ik/ , one of the four superficial veins of the arm, beginning in the ulnar part of the dorsal venous network and running proximally on the posterior surface of the ulnar side of the forearm. It is often chosen for blood testing. Compare dorsal digital vein, median antebrachial vein.
