zonesthesia

zonesthesia /zō′nesthē″zhə/ [Gk, zone + aisthesis, feeling] , a painful sensation of constriction, as of a bandage bound too tightly, especially experienced around the waist or abdomen. The usual cause is cervical compressive myelopathy. Also called girdle sensation.
