thoracolumbar fascia

thoracolumbar fascia /thôr′əkōlum″bər/ , a noncontractile structure that functions in a manner similar to a ligament in the lumbar area. It extends from the iliac crest and sacrum to the thoracic cage and envelops the paravertebral musculature. See also lumbodorsal fascia.
