tautomer

tautomer /tôtəmər/ , structural isomers that differ only in the position of a hydrogen atom or proton. Because tautomers can be rapidly interconverted by proton transfer in aqueous solutions, they are usually in equilibrium with one another. Kinds include keto isomer, enol isomer.
