sympus /sim″pəs/ [Gk, syn, together, pous, foot] , a malformed fetus in which the lower extremities are completely fused or rotated and the pelvis and genitalia are defective. Kinds include sirenomelus, sympus dipus, sympus monopus. See also symmelus.
