sylvian aqueduct /sil″vē·ən/ [Franciscus Sylvius, Dutch anatomist, 1614–1672; L, aquaductus, canal] , a narrow canal from the third to the fourth ventricle of the midbrain. Also called aqueduct of Sylvius.
