spring forceps

spring forceps [AS, springan, to jump] , a kind of forceps that includes a spring mechanism. The forceps are tweezerlike and vary in thickness. With teeth, they can grasp delicate tissue. Without teeth, they can hold thick or slippery tissue. Also called bulldog forceps.
