sodium perborate

sodium perborate, an oxygen-liberating antiseptic (NaBO2·H2O2·3H2O) that may be used in treating necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis and other kinds of gingival inflammation and in bleaching pulpless teeth. Prolonged or indiscriminate use of the compound may cause burns of the oral mucosa and blacken the tongue.
