seneciosis

seneciosis /senes′ē·ō″sis/ , a toxic reaction to the ingestion of plants of the genus Senecio, which are used to make bush tea. The poison causes liver damage, particularly in malnourished patients. Common Senecio species include ragwort and life root, both used in herbal remedies.
