reovirus

reovirus /rē′ōvī″rəs/ [respiratory enteric orphan + L, virus] , any one of three ubiquitous, double-stranded ribonucleic acid viruses found in the respiratory and alimentary tracts of both healthy and sick people. Reoviruses have been implicated in some cases of upper respiratory tract disease and infantile gastroenteritis.
