reflex vasodilation [L, reflectere, to bend back, vas, vessel, dilatare, to spread out] , any blood vessel dilation that results from stimulation of vasodilator nerves or inhibition of vasoconstrictors of the sympathetic nervous system, including by epinephrine-type drugs.
