pulsating exophthalmos /pul″sāting/ [L, pulsare, to beat; Gk, ex + ophthalmos, eye] , an eye disorder characterized by a bulging, pulsating eyeball, caused by an arteriovenous aneurysm involving the internal carotid artery and the cavernous sinus of the orbit.
