pregnanediol test

pregnanediol test, an infrequently used 24-hour urine test that evaluates progesterone production by the ovaries and placenta. It is useful in documenting whether ovulation has occurred, and if so, when. The test is used primarily to monitor progesterone supplementation in patients with an inadequate luteal phase.
