precipitin

precipitin /prəsip″itin/ [L, praecipitare + Gk, anti, against; AS, bodig, body; Gk, genein, to produce] , an antibody that causes the formation of an insoluble complex when combined with a specific soluble antigen. Compare agglutinin. See also agglutination, antiglobulin.
