pharyngobasilar fascia

pharyngobasilar fascia, a thick layer of fascia that lines the inner surface of the pharyngeal wall and, with the buccopharyngeal fascia, reinforces the pharyngeal wall where muscle is deficient, particularly above the level of the superior constrictor where the pharyngeal wall is formed almost entirely of fascia.
