pes equinus

pes equinus [L, pes foot, equinus, pertaining to a horse] , a deformity of the foot in which the toes are extremely flexed, walking is done on the dorsal surface of the toes, and the heel does not touch the ground. Treatment is by splinting, serial casts, or surgery. Also called talipes equinus.
