aphakia

aphakia /əfā″kē·ə/ [Gk, a, phakos, not lens] , (in ophthalmology) a condition in which the crystalline lens of the eye is absent, usually because it has been surgically removed, as in the treatment of cataracts. Also called aphacia. −aphakic, aphacic, adj.
