osteodystrophy

osteodystrophy /-dis″trəfē/ [Gk, osteon + dys, bad, trophe, nourishment] , any generalized defect in bone development, usually associated with disturbances in calcium and phosphorus metabolism and renal insufficiency, such as in renal osteodystrophy. Also called osteodystrophia.
