occipitofrontalis /oksip′itōfrəntal″is/ , one of a pair of thin, broad muscles covering the top of the skull, consisting of an occipital belly and a frontal belly connected by an extensive aponeurosis. It is the muscle that draws the scalp and raises the eyebrows. Compare temporoparietalis.
