nutmeg poisoning

nutmeg poisoning, a toxic effect of ingesting the dried kernels of the seeds of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) or its volatile oils. The oils contain terpenes and myristicin, which have stimulant and carminative effects. A dose of one to three kernels may produce convulsions for up to 60 hours.
