nucleocytoplasmic ratio

nucleocytoplasmic ratio, the ratio of the volume of a nucleus of a cell to the volume of the cytoplasm. The proportion is usually constant for a specific cell type, and an increase is indicative of malignant neoplasms. Also called karyoplasmic ratio, nucleoplasmic ratio.
