Nocardia

Nocardia /nōkär″dē·ə/ [Edmund I.E. Nocard, French veterinarian, 1850–1903] , a genus of weakly gram-positive aerobic bacteria, some species of which are pathogenic, such as Nocardia asteroides. See also nocardiosis.
