neurofilament

neurofilament /no͝or′ōfil′əment/ [Gk, neuron, nerve + L, filare, to spin] , a cytoplasmic filament approximately 10 nm in diameter occurring in the neurons. It has a cytoskeletal function and may be involved in the intracellular transport of metabolites.
