neuritis

neuritis /no͝orī″tis/ pl. neuritides [Gk, neuron + itis, inflammation] , an abnormal condition characterized by inflammation of a nerve. Some of the signs of this condition are neuralgia, hypesthesia, anesthesia, paralysis, muscular atrophy, and defective reflexes.
