multipolar mitosis

multipolar mitosis /-pō″lər/ [L, multus + polus, pole] , cell division in which the spindle has three or more poles and results in the formation of a corresponding number of daughter cells. Also called multicentric mitosis, pluripolar mitosis. See also trisomy.
