microfiche /mī″krōfēsh′/ [Gk, mikros + Fr, fiche, peg] , a sheet of microfilm that contains several separate photographic reproductions. The sheet is a convenient size for filing and enables large amounts of data to be stored in a relatively small space. See also microfilm.
