local osteolytic hypercalcemia (LOH)

local osteolytic hypercalcemia (LOH), a syndrome of malignancy-associated hypercalcemia resulting from the action of locally acting osteolytic factors released in conjunction with tumor deposits adjacent to bone. LOH is frequently caused by multiple myeloma and lung and breast cancer.
